For first time moms, starting with solids or semi solids is a big challenge. What to feed? How to feed? How much to feed? How should feeding be complimented with milk? All questions revolve in a mom’s mind. So, to help you out here is a sample eating schedule of a six month old. You can make changes as per baby’s routine.

Before starting solids, which is around 5-6 months, an average baby’s diet is approx 120ml milk every 2 hours. Gradually replace one milk session with a purée diet. Start with very less quantity (around one table spoon) and include only one type of cereal or fruit at a time.

Gradually you can increase the quantity as well as offer her combination of food items to make it tastier and healthier.
