Mother’s milk is most important and nutritious food for the baby. But sometimes without proper knowledge, specially for first time mothers, milk supply slows down or it completely stops. So let’s straight come to the point and see how you can boost breast milk supply:
1. Take proper rest. Milk supply is highly affected by the quality of sleep you take.
2. Breast feeding burns approx 500 calories extra. So, it’s very important to take healthy nutritious food every time you feel hungry.
3. Feed on demand. Whenever your child is hungry, feed her. Always offer your breasts first, if she is not full then only offer formula milk.
4. Body produces milk as per demand of the milk. So, more you feed or pump, more it’ll produce.
5. Fennel seeds, cumin seeds, fenugreek, almond and oats are effective in naturally enhancing the milk supply. Try to add these to your diet.
6. Drink plenty of liquids. Try to grab one glass of water every time you sit to feed or pump.
